What a published earnings figure will mean here

This site currently publishes no earnings figure, no average and no comparison. This page is the standard any future number must meet before that changes, written down first so it cannot be bent to fit a convenient result later.

UK advertising rules treat earnings claims to prospective workers as claims that must be representative and substantiated: median-led rather than skewed by top earners, with commission-only status made clear. Most commission-only platforms respond with vague ranges or silence. Our response is this standard: when a figure appears, it appears with its full basis, and until a dataset can carry that basis, no figure appears at all.

The calculator on the earnings page exists for the meantime. It does arithmetic on your own assumptions and quotes nothing, which is the only honest number available today.

Any published figure will state, on the same page

The median, not the meanThe headline figure will be the median, because a mean is skewed by a handful of top earners and UK guidance says so too.

The zero-earner shareThe proportion of active sellers who earned nothing in the same window, published beside the median, not in a footnote.

The pay model, separatedCommission-only and salaried-track figures reported separately. Blending them would flatter commission-only with the salaried floor.

The sample and the windowHow many sellers, over which dates, and what counted as active. A figure without its denominator is an anecdote.

The dateWhen it was computed and from what. Stale figures age out rather than lingering as evergreen claims.

A top earner’s month presented as typical, with or without a small-print disclaimer

A mean average skewed by outliers where a median is reportable

Any figure without its sample size and time window

A comparative claim against other work without a stated, checkable basis

Estimated or industry-typical numbers dressed as platform results
